Free Debt Management Program
Actually, you might have heard of a free debt management program if you've been researching debt management programs for awhile. But are they too good to be true?
Can it Be?
Sort of. Most of the time when a debt management company advertises a free debt management program, it usually just means that some portion of the program is free, like the initial consultation or perhaps free credit counseling. One thing is certain though--a free debt management program usually isn't totally free. However, it is usually offered at a discount. So it's not a terrible deal. Just think about it--if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. (In fact, that's why you should stay away from any debt management program that promises to get rid of your debt overnight.)
Does that mean you should avoid a free debt management program like the plague? No. Calling a free debt management program "free" simply means that you are getting a part of it for free. It doesn't mean it's totally free, but it usually does mean it's cheaper. And one thing is certain--a free debt management program can set you totally free from your debt--usually in five years or so! And that's a lot faster than what you could do on your own. It would take 13 years or more on your own depending on how much you owe and what your interest rates are. That's why getting help from a debt management program--whether it's advertised as free or not--is a smart idea.
